Service Description

Strand is a comprehensive salon management platform providing:

• Online appointment booking system
• Client relationship management (CRM) tools
• Business intelligence and analytics features
• Staff management and scheduling
• Payment processing and billing

Strand is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. We do not provide salon services directly. Salon owners and staff are responsible for delivering services. These terms apply to salon owners and staff using the Strand platform.

Account Registration & Responsibility

Account Owner: Only salon owners, managers, or authorized staff may create accounts. By registering, you confirm you have authority to bind the salon to these terms.

Account Responsibility: The account owner is responsible for all activity under their account, including staff access management, data entered, and compliance with these terms.

Staff Access: You are responsible for managing staff access to your account. Strand does not control who staff members are or what actions they take. You must implement appropriate access controls and training.

Subscription & Pricing

Free Tier: Strand offers a free tier with limited features for small salons.

Paid Tiers: Paid subscriptions are available on monthly and annual billing cycles via Stripe.

Billing: Monthly subscriptions renew automatically on each billing date unless cancelled. Annual subscriptions renew yearly. You will receive email invoices for each billing period.

Price Changes: We may change pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes apply to new billing cycles, not existing ones.

No Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Cancellation & Data Export

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription anytime. Cancellation is effective at the end of your current billing period. Your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period.

Data Export: Upon account cancellation, you have 30 days to export your salon data. After 30 days, we reserve the right to delete your data according to our data retention policy.

Account Deletion: To permanently delete your account, contact legal@strandhq.ai. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Intellectual Property

Strand IP: Strand owns all intellectual property in the platform, including code, design, features, documentation, and algorithms.

Your Data: You retain ownership of your salon data (client information, appointment records, business data). You grant Strand a worldwide license to use, store, process, and display your data for the purpose of providing the service.

License to You: You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Strand for operating your salon. You may not reverse engineer, copy, or resell Strand.

Data Ownership & Processing

Data Controller: You (the salon owner) are the data controller for client data. Strand is a data processor.

Your Responsibility: You are responsible for obtaining client consent to process their personal data, complying with GDPR and data protection laws, and ensuring appropriate privacy practices.

Strand's Role: Strand processes data on your instructions to provide the service. We implement appropriate security and compliance measures but do not control how you use client data.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Strand for:

• Illegal activities or violation of laws
• Harassment, threats, or abuse of customers or staff
• Reverse engineering or attempting to derive source code
• Scraping or automated data extraction
• Fraudulent bookings, payments, or misrepresentation
• Malware, phishing, or security attacks
• Spam or unsolicited communications
• Infringement of intellectual property or privacy

Violations may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

Service Availability

Target Uptime: Strand targets 99.5% uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Maintenance: We perform maintenance and updates that may temporarily affect availability. We will notify you of scheduled maintenance when possible.

No Guarantee: We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or unavailability except as limited by applicable law.

Service Modifications

Strand may modify features, pricing, or functionality at any time. Material changes to core functionality will receive 30 days notice via email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

Termination

By You: You may terminate anytime by cancelling your subscription or deleting your account.

By Strand: We may terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, engage in illegal activity, or pose a risk to the platform or other users.

Effect: Upon termination, your access ceases immediately. Data export is available for 30 days. After 30 days, data may be deleted per our retention policy.

Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer: Strand is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Strand's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees you paid to Strand in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Excluded Damages: Strand is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Strand from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your use of Strand, violation of these terms, infringement of third-party rights, or illegal conduct.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Good Faith Negotiation: Before legal action, you agree to attempt good faith resolution by contacting legal@strandhq.ai.

Jurisdiction: Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

Policy Changes

Strand may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email with 30 days notice. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
